The Panda Cup 2022 could be the first fully licensed Super Smash Bros. championship circuit in North America., with Melee and Ultimate tournaments and a prize pool of $100,000. As the fighting game series has primarily thrived in unofficial tournaments, Nintendo revealed a new association with esports organization Panda Global the year before, marking the company’s initial big move toward a federally accepted tournament circuit.

Initiating on June 24th at CEO 2022, the Panda Cup would end up making many visits to renowned battling game events. The only thing that distinguishes this circuit from others, namely the Smash World Tour, is Nintendo’s endorsement. Panda also stated that Nintendo will not be a sponsor of the event.

The Panda Cup is intended for skilled gamers who think they do whatever it requires to compete against the greatest in Super Smash Bros. Following a series of qualifier stages, 32 participants will compete in the Panda Cup Finale lineup via multiple events, online tournaments, and the last opportunity qualification including both Ultimate and Melee.

Prior to the last chance qualification on December 15 for Super Smash Bros Panda Cup 2022, an experienced audience jury will decide on a number of entries depending on positions, victory rates, and other factors. According to Bill Trinen, executive director of product marketing, it is a deliberate attempt from the firm to “create a more consistent, entertaining, and friendly competitive environment.”

CEO Daytona will be the first destination for the Panda Cup 2022, actually occurring between June 24 to 26. Every licensed community stop would provide auto-qualifier berths in the Panda Cup Finale to the best contestants. Get on My Level, Lost Tech City, TBC 10, and Dreamhack Atlanta are among the other events taking place. The circuit strives to promote inclusion and ease of access for all participants throughout North America by offering four options to be eligible for the Panda Cup Finale as follows:

The 32 finalists for each game title will compete for a $100,000 prize pool and the chance to have their name inscribed in history at the Panda Cup Finale, which will be placed between December 16 and 18.
