Luxinar, a global leader in sealed CO2 laser sources, is pleased to support its agent ASTC, because it showcased the manufacturer’s OEM 45iX and its selected SR series sealed CO2 laser sources at the P820 booth at Laser & Photonics Taiwan in Taipei December 15-18, 2021.

Luxinar's sealed CO2 laser source can be used in a variety of materials, including textiles, plastics, rubber, glass, wood, ceramics, and metals. Applications range from cutting, drilling, kiss cutting and perforation to marking, engraving, scribing and welding. Its lasers are installed in many industries, such as electronics, automobiles, textiles, packaging, food and beverages.

Luxinar does not provide turnkey solutions, but prefers to cooperate with OEMs and machine manufacturers that integrate Luxinar sealed CO2 laser sources to provide its customers with complete laser solutions. Most product series offer three wavelengths; 10.6µm, 10.25µm and 9.3µm, allowing companies to design modular machines to meet their respective process parameters.

Laser & Photonics Taiwan is one of the highlights of our event calendar, and we are very happy that it continues as a face-to-face exhibition.

Patrick Kim, Regional General Manager of Luxino South Korea Office

Kim continued: "This is an ideal opportunity to share our solutions and expertise directly with our customers and allow visitors to discuss the challenges they face in today's market. This will help us understand how to support them in their efforts to improve productivity and quality. level."

Lasers are now common in electronic product manufacturing. The semiconductor industry continues to shrink the size of its chips and packaged devices because lasers perform high-precision processing in the smallest heat affected zone (HAZ). Although there are a variety of lasers to choose from, CO2 lasers are usually the first choice compared to other industrial laser types due to the power/cost ratio and longer wavelengths.

Luxinar's SR series is for customers who require lasers with high quality, reliability and versatility. Application areas include mobile phone cases, liquid crystal glass processing, microelectronics; attention to every detail of the engineering process to ensure the lowest operating costs.

The CO2 laser source is hermetically sealed with an IP66 degree of protection, which is very suitable for harsh environments because it can prevent dust, moisture and water mist. Its compact, lightweight design includes integrated, field-replaceable RF power and DC power options with enhanced diagnostic capabilities.

Laser processing provides flexibility, and unlike mechanical alternatives, cutting depth can be controlled extremely accurately, with high repeatability and consistency without the need to change tools.

Luxinar's best-selling product is the extremely versatile OEM 45iX laser source. It can be easily integrated into existing production lines, whether these are system concepts with scanners or other beam guiding components.

Like all Luxinar products, the OEM 45iX has a high-quality, circular symmetrical beam that can achieve fast processing speeds and short light pulses with high peak power. This improves the edge quality and minimizes the HAZ. The technology is based on the proven slab principle and does not require gas recirculation equipment such as vacuum pumps or pressure control systems. Maintenance and service costs are extremely low, so that the OEM 45iX has a long service life and trouble-free operation.

For manufacturers who are not sure whether they can use or improve sealed CO2 lasers in a specific manufacturing process, Luxinar can help by conducting sample tests in its internal application laboratory. Regardless of whether the customer is an existing customer, any interested party can use this service.

The laboratory is fully equipped and can carry out a series of processes. Sample turnaround time is fast, including detailed free application reports and suggestions from experienced application engineers.
