Thorlabs announced that Jennifer Cable has been appointed President of Thorlabs, a vertically integrated manufacturer of photonics equipment. Since its establishment in 1989, her father, Alex Cable, has served as President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), turning a fledgling start-up company operating out of the garage into a thriving multinational organization , Has facilities in nine countries with more than 2,000 sales and manufacturing personnel. Going forward, Alex will continue to guide the privately held organization he created through his role as CEO.
Since joining the company in 2015, Jennifer has held multiple positions, using her previous experience in leading strategy teams to develop and execute strategic plans for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield, a major company in the healthcare industry. Prior to this, she received a Bachelor of Philosophy from Vassar College and a Master of Bioethics from Columbia University, and worked as a Princeton Asia Fellow at the International Population Service in Laos.
