Shenzhen 3D printer supplier Snapmaker has released a new 10W high-power laser module as an add-on to its 3D printer ecosystem.

The module uses a laser beam combiner to enhance the customer's laser cutting and engraving experience on the Snapmaker machine to improve its efficiency, fineness and range of supporting materials.

Snapmaker also launched a Black Friday promotion. Readers in the 3D printing industry can use the discount code B3DPI100 to enjoy a discount of $100 off orders over $1,100.

10W high power laser module

Following Snapmaker's recently launched Snapmaker 2.0 AT and F 3D printer models, the launch of 10W high-power laser modules is also very popular. The new Snapmaker 2.0 AT machine is the company's latest generation of modular 3-in-1 3D printers, while the Snapmaker 2.0 F model provides options that are more suitable for beginners and provides users with greater flexibility.

With its recently launched 10W high-power laser module, Snapmaker offers its customers the opportunity to enhance their laser cutting and engraving capabilities. This module is compatible with Snapmaker's 2.0 A250, F250, A350 and F350 and can be deployed for various education, entertainment or prototyping applications.

The module is equipped with the most advanced laser beam splitter, and its 10W power capacity enables users to experiment with a wider range of materials and projects. The laser module can work at a speed of up to 6,000 millimeters per minute, while cutting basswood (a light, soft and easy-to-process wood) up to 8 millimeters thick. In context, this means that the cutting speed of the new 10W module can be eight times faster than the 1.6W laser module.

The 10W laser module is equipped with a fast axis collimation (FAC) lens, which can provide an ultra-fine laser focus of 0.05 mm x 0.3 mm. The higher energy density that FAC brings can provide high-quality laser-machined parts with excellent details.

In addition, the module has an upgraded camera capture function, has a unique internal air duct, can provide wind pressure, can blow away the smoke when the laser beam cuts into the material. The channels guide the smoke directly into the grid of the laser engraving and cutting platform, and then are guided out so that they will not interfere with the laser processing process.

The 10W laser module runs on Snapmaker's Luban software, enabling users to perform simple image conversion, set correct parameters for different materials, and slice 3D models into laser-cuttable vectors.

The module is also equipped with a gyroscope sensor to ensure that the laser beam does not emit light when the module is installed incorrectly or deviates from its designated position to better protect the operator.

In order to solve the problem of shortened laser diode life when exposed to high temperature for a long time, Snapmaker created a 10W laser module with two independent blowing systems for PCBA and laser diode. This system ensures that the diode is properly cooled after use, thereby extending its service life by up to 10,000 hours.

Whenever its temperature sensor detects a temperature higher than the normal operating temperature, higher than 55 degrees Celsius, the module will automatically stop working until the temperature returns to the normal range. Once this happens, the operator can use the module's touch screen to resume work.

The 10W laser module is compatible with all Snapmaker 2.0 models except 150, and will be compatible with any machine that the company will launch soon. The module can also be used with other additional components of the company, such as a rotating module, an emergency stop button, an air purifier and a CAN hub.

The 10W high-power laser module is priced at US$459 and is now available for pre-sale from Snapmaker’s online store for US$399.

From November 19, Snapmaker customers can take advantage of the company's Black Friday promotions through its online store. Sales will end at 23:59 PST on December 2 and 08:59 Central European Time on December 3 at Snapmaker US and other online stores in its EU online store.

Users can take advantage of a series of discounts on their machines, including a 10% discount on the recently launched AT models and a 15% discount on F250 and F350 machines. Readers of the 3D printing industry can also use discount code B3DPI100 to enjoy a discount of $100 off orders over $1,100.

As part of the Black Friday promotion, Snapmaker also held a "Wheel of Fortune" event in its online store, where customers can win free machines, including Snapmaker A250, A150 and Snapmaker Original. The free Snapmaker A250 coupon code can be used for orders over 599 Euro/599 USD, the Snapmaker A150 code can be used for orders over 199 Euro/199 USD, and the Snapmaker Original code can be used for orders over 149 Euro/149 USD.
